Enzo Francescoli's farewell from football between two of the biggest football clubs from South America: River Plate from Argentina where he had the best performance of his career and Peñarol from Uruguay which he supports since his childhood. Marcelo Salas, Ricardo Altamirano, Gustavo Lombardi, Roberto Fabián Ayala, Roberto Monserrat and Facundo Villalba had been Francescoli's teammates at River Plate. They were playing in other teams at the time and returned for this occasion to play this match donning the red sash. Enzo's two sons came on the pitch and scored an honorific goal at the end of the match.
