Éste partido y el siguiente de España ante Dinamarca en semifinales, es un ejemplo claro de una de las grandes injusticias del mundo del futbol : que se recuerde a Arconada solo por su error en la final. Arconada hizo un torneo sobresaliente, parando mucho y bien lo que nadie paraba, evitando una temprana, triste y pronta eliminación .¡Que paradones y que reflejos tenía éste porterazo!... Chapeau por Arconada, yo soy de los que te recuerda por el impresionante torneo que hiciste, y no por las medias o la falta de Platini !
Un très bon match que les Ouest-allemands auraient dû plier avec leurs nombreuses occasions surtout en première mi-temps de la part de Völler, Klaus Allofs ou Rummenigge. Mais la prestation d'Arconada a été de très bonne qualité même s'il fut sauvé par le poteau et la barre transversale. Mais que le pénalty de Carrasco est mal tiré à la 44' ! L'Espagne s'en sort bien et marque alors que plus personne n'y croyait et que la RFA a encore fait preuve de suffisance.
Spain goal is almost an exact copy of the first goal Germany conceived in the world cup final two years earlier. Two times victim for not paying attention to quickly taken freekicks.
How Spain managed to win this group is beyond me. The were outplayed by Romania, struggled to get a (underserved?) point from Portugal, and were just extremely lucky to win against Germany in the last minute (Germany had three shots in post in the first half, and dominated this game throughout).

Frustração alemã. Chegou com moral antes do jogo e acabou eliminada.
