Primera gran noche de Ronaldo en Europa con solo 17 años. Todo lo que vino después ya podía apreciarse en este partido. Este partido demuestra que el PSV de escuela holandesa solo tenía la táctica (3 defensas) pero su juego se basaba en encontrar a Ronaldo. El Leverkusen un equipo más completo y con ideas claras. Delantero oportunista en Kirsten, Lenhoff punzante por banda derecha y un libero de la vieja guardia como Schuster. Entretenidos 90 mojitos con alguna pieza de tensión debido a la historia entre Alemania y Holanda.
