This match was won by Germany because of the referee. Germany was not able to score even playing 11 against 10, after the referee dubiously sent off Monzon (notice he didn't send off Voeller earlier). Argentinian team should have refused to take their silver medals! This would have been quite a statement and I don't understand why they accepted the loss the way it happened.
And to continue, Voeler had a yellow card and he simulated he was fouled, so not only Germany shouldn't have got a penalty, but also Voeller should have received the second yellow card for simulation. Such scandalous refereeing... Just imagine those players worked for 2 years to be there, and then they played in 1 month 7 games, just to have everything taken away by a referee. Video refereeing at least in the World Cup Final should have been a must...
For others that watch this one (contains spoiler). 1. Both german commentators say: "Das was ein Geshenck" - this was a gift. 2. Voeller not only commit foul on Maradona, but also steps on Maradona's arm. This was a red card intervention in a match that until then it wasn't dirty. 3. On the first red card at Argentina the red card would be justified only if Monzon hit on Klinsman, if not should have been yellow. Please watch after Klinsman pretends that he was hit, he stays on the ground 1 minute and then he walks as if he needs crutches. No less than 10 seconds afterwards he is running without any sign he has any pain. (Actually in the first moment when the match starts...) 4. On the minute 30 one argentinian seems to be fouled inside the penalty area. No replay from the friendly Italian television. The German commentators themselves sound like they believe it was penalty, however they claim that the had also one on Augenthaler. I conclude that there are too many nistakes and all of them against Argentina to just believe it was a bad referying. If the referee is weak he should make mistakes that favor both sides. In this case however, this Mexican changed the result of the game and helped West Germany to win the game. I am not Argentinian, but I only can imagine how hurtful it could have been to reach the final, play a briliant solid game - Bilardo is amazing reallly -, having still the best player in the world in Maradona and have the final stolen from you. I only hope this mexican referee cannot ever visit Argentina!

Germany were better. STOP TRYING TO JUSTIFY THE INFERIORITY OF ARGENTINA.
Both red cards against Argentina were correct. It doesn't really matter if Klinsmann was hurt by Monzón or not, the recklessness of the challenge was enough for a red card. It should have been a penalty to Augenthaler while it was still 11 v 11. How do you explain that the referee didn't give it if he wanted to help the Germans? (Obviously you can't.) The penalty for the Germans wasn't indisputable but it was a very clumpsy challenge by Sensini that *could* result in a penalty, and if I sympathised with Argentina I would direct my displeasure towards him (and Monzón) rather than the referee. Besides, Argentina isn't exactly the country that should complain about obvious refereeing errors in the World Cup. I am Swedish.

Also, the situation where Calderón fell in the penalty area should never have happened because it came after Argentina were wrongly awarded a corner when it should clearly have been a German goal kick.

did not touch voeller legs , the jufge was wrong & also was wrong when calderon was fouled in the penalty area of germany , not to mention he didn't expulse voeller for double yellow card .

Grazie per l'osservazione. Per quanto riguarda la lingua, quando possiamo scegliere, prendiamo sempre la lingua di una delle squadre partecipanti, preferibilmente quella vincente, visto che saranno quei tiffosi i più interessati.

Si tratta di una partita tra una squadra i cui tiffosi parlano spagnolo e una i cui parlano tedesco. E vince quella che parla tedesco. Quindi nessun'altra lingua avrebbe più senso.

Totalmente merecido para Alemania, tranquilamente pudieron haber ganado por 2 o 3 a 0, Argentina no propuso nunca, Maradona estuvo desaparecido todo el partido y cometieron demasiadas faltas. Por otro lado para mí si fue penal porque hubo un empujón, sin contar que no cobraron un penal clarísimo de Goycochea a Augenthaler.
