Hello! You are totally right. The flag there must be a mistake I guess, as it shouldn't be on the team America, which is actually a representative of the continent (Americas). Also, there have actually been many matches of a CONMEBOL team in many cases (usually called Equipo de las Estrellas), probably you will find some on YouTube, and, as far as I know, that team has always played against selects (legends) of a club, and not against selects of a continent, with one exception in 1973 (it's this match: https://footballia.net/matches/europe-south-america which features a South American-CONMEBOL team, even though a Mexican player also played).
