El partido no está completo. En la segunda parte no empieza desde el inicio y hay 3 minutos de entrevistas del 35 al 38 en la segunda parte, volviendo luego al partido. El partido es muy aburrido. Ambos juegan con el mismo esquema (5-3-2), aunque la superioridad de los austriacos, con jugadores mundialistas en sus filas tanto de Italia 90 (Aigner o Zsak), Francia 98 (Wohlfahrt o Stöger), como de ambos mundiales (Pfeffer). Actúa el exitoso entrenador austríaco Hasenhüttl. El entrenador del Austria Wien es Prohaska. Los alemanes se limitan a sacar muchas veces el balón desde atrás, con su líbero, Eggert, que también saca los saques de puerta.
