Lucky won for germany uruguay played best game on the tournament.
How did Uruguay ever make it this far at this World Cup? Still baffles me. They're like the invisible team here.
Uruguay is one of the 3 biggest teams in South America, what surprises you?
I'm well aware of Uruguay's track record, and for a country with the population of Berlin, that's quite an astonishing feat in itself, fair enough. It's just that they rarely ever impressed me with their footballing skills, and 1970 was no exception. What they lack in playfulness, the usually make up for with defensive alignment and excessive hardness, which is not the kind of football I prefer, tbh. In my opinion, Peru were much more convincing and should have rather deserved to reach the semis, but unlike Uruguay they didn't have the luck of the draw, unfortunately.
Uruguai perdeu gol demais, pqp
